About Us



Luther, Iowa is a small town of approximately 120 people located south of Boone, southwest of Ames and north of Madrid. It is currently home to at least four local businesses, Heartland Co-op located on the west side of town and the BFE Vintage Motorcycles shop, Whatcha Smokin BBQ & Brew restaurant and Portable Pros all located near hwy 17 on the east side of town.

It was founded in 1893 and named after a predominate local farmer named Clarke Luther.

It was the second town to be laid out in what was originally known as Worth Township.
